Most people have hundreds of bookmarks they never look at again. You save something interesting, it disappears into a folder, and three months later you can't find it - or remember why you saved it in the first place.
Browser bookmark folders don't scale. They're flat, hard to search, and offer no way to capture why you saved something. The bookmark becomes just a URL with no context.
We wanted a bookmark manager that:

The browser extension saves the current page in one click. On desktop it's Ctrl+Shift+Y. On mobile, the bookmarklet opens a save panel in seconds. You never have to leave the page you're on.
Recallio uses collections - not flat folders. Every bookmark lands in at least one collection, and you can create sub-collections to go deeper. Three system collections handle the common cases automatically: Unsorted, Read Later, and Archive.
Smart Collections are rule-based. Tell Recallio "all bookmarks tagged 'work' from the last 30 days" and it builds the collection for you, automatically. No manual sorting required.
Search in Recallio covers titles, URLs, descriptions, and tags. Advanced search syntax (site:, tag:, in:, quoted phrases, -exclude) lets you combine filters - by tag, by collection, by date - so you can pinpoint exactly what you're looking for.
When you find something worth revisiting, highlight the key passage and attach a note. Recallio stores a snapshot of the page so your highlights survive even if the original content changes.
Old bookmarks aren't dead weight in Recallio - the Rediscovery Engine surfaces them again when they become relevant. It's like having a second chance at everything you've ever saved.
