Smart Collections save a search — keyword, tag, or date range — and run it live every time you open them. Save once, revisit anytime, no manual filing.
The most common complaint about bookmark managers isn't saving — it's finding things again. Smart Collections fix that by turning a search you'd otherwise repeat into a saved view you can open any time.
A Smart Collection is a saved search. You pick a keyword, a tag, a date range, or a status like Read Later or Archived — and Recallio remembers that combination. Every time you open the collection, it runs the search again against your current bookmarks and shows whatever matches right now.
Think of it as a bookmarked search, not a folder.
There are two ways to create one:
From an active search — while browsing your bookmarks with a filter applied (a keyword, a tag, Read Later, Archive), click Save as Smart Collection above the list. Give it a name and it captures the filter you're currently looking at.
From scratch — in the sidebar, click the + next to Smart Collections and fill in the form:
You need at least one filter to create a collection. There's no URL/title rule builder and no AND/OR logic — it's the same filters available in regular search, just saved under a name.

Everything you've flagged to read later, in one saved view.
Filter: tag is frontend
Every bookmark tagged frontend, regardless of which collection you filed it in.
Filter: keyword docs
Catches anything with "docs" in the title, description, URL, or tags.

A window into what you saved during a specific stretch of time — handy for a periodic review.

Smart and regular collections aren't mutually exclusive. A bookmark belongs to its regular collection (where you filed it) and also shows up in any Smart Collection whose search matches it.
Open a Smart Collection and use Refresh to re-check the count, or Delete to remove it. Deleting a Smart Collection never touches the bookmarks it was showing — they stay exactly where they were filed. You can rename a Smart Collection, but the saved filter itself is fixed once created — to change what it matches, delete it and create a new one.
The bookmark count shown in the sidebar isn't recalculated on every page load — it's updated when you hit Refresh, and automatically once a day in the background. Opening the collection itself always shows current, live results, even if the sidebar count is a few hours stale.
Smart Collections get more valuable as your library grows. With 100 bookmarks, scrolling to find something is easy. With 5,000, it's not. A saved search scales with you — it's exactly as fast to open whether it matches 10 bookmarks or 1,000.
