Public Collections: Share Your Bookmarks with Anyone

Recallio lets you make any collection public with a shareable link. Here's how to share your bookmark collections and what visitors can do with them.

Bookmarks have always been private by default. But sometimes you want to share a curated set of links — a reading list for a course, a resource collection for your team, or a public list of tools you recommend. Recallio's public collections make that possible.

Making a collection public

  1. Open the collection you want to share.
  2. Click Share.
  3. Toggle it on — Recallio generates a unique link.
  4. Copy the shareable link.

The link looks like recallio.co.uk/c/[shareId], where shareId is a random identifier — not your username or the collection's name. Anyone with the link can view the collection without logging in. Turning sharing off invalidates that link; turning it on again generates a new one.

What visitors see

Public collections display as a clean, read-only list:

  • Bookmark title and description
  • The URL (as a clickable link)
  • Tags
  • Date saved

Visitors cannot edit, delete, or add individual bookmarks. They can click through to the original URLs. If a visitor has a Recallio account, they can clone the entire collection into their own library with one click — it comes in as a copy, so their edits don't affect yours and yours don't affect theirs.

Making a collection private again

Toggle Public back to private at any time. The URL immediately stops working — existing visitors who bookmarked the link will see a 404. Your bookmarks are not affected.

Use cases

Resource lists for courses or workshops: Put all your reference links in one collection and share it with participants. Better than a Google Doc of links — it stays organised, searchable (for you), and always at the same URL.

Team reading lists: Share a collection with colleagues working on the same project. They can browse what you've found without needing a Recallio account.

Public "awesome lists": Curate the best tools, articles, or repositories in a topic you know well, and share the collection publicly. It's a lightweight way to build a public resource that people can discover and share.

Portfolio of saved work: If you write, curate a collection of your published work and share it as a public portfolio.

A note on privacy

Only the specific collection you make public is visible. The rest of your library stays private. Recallio doesn't expose your username, other collections, or account details through a public collection link unless you've specifically shared them.

If you want to share multiple collections with the same audience, share each link separately. There's no "public profile" that lists all your public collections unless you explicitly build one by sharing the links yourself.
