Setting Up the Recallio Extension for Chrome and Firefox

What the extension does

The Recallio browser extension lets you save, browse, and search your bookmarks without leaving the current page. Once installed, you can:

• Save any page in one click or with a keyboard shortcut
• Right-click any link to save it directly, without opening it first
• Search your bookmarks from the extension popup
• Browse your collections and recent saves in the popup
• Save to a specific collection and add tags in seconds

Installing on Chrome (and Chromium-based browsers)

This covers Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, and any other Chromium-based browser.

Step 1: Install from the Chrome Web Store

1. Open the Chrome Web Store and search for "Recallio"
2. Click Add to Chrome
3. In the confirmation dialog, click Add extension

The Recallio icon appears in your browser toolbar.

Step 2: Pin the extension

By default Chrome may hide the extension in the puzzle-piece menu. To keep it visible:

1. Click the puzzle-piece icon (Extensions) in the toolbar
2. Find Recallio and click the pin icon next to it

The Recallio icon now stays in your toolbar permanently.

Step 3: Log in

1. Click the Recallio icon in the toolbar
2. Click Log in and enter your Recallio email and password
3. The popup switches to your dashboard - you're ready to save

Installing on Firefox

Step 1: Install from Firefox Add-ons

1. Open Firefox Add-ons and search for "Recallio"
2. Click Add to Firefox
3. In the permission dialog, click Add

Step 2: Log in

Click the Recallio icon in your toolbar and log in with your Recallio email and password.

Firefox for Android

Recallio also works on Firefox for Android. Install it the same way from Firefox Add-ons on your phone. The popup and save features work the same as on desktop. Context menus and keyboard shortcuts aren't available on mobile - use the popup to save instead.

Keyboard shortcuts

You can change this shortcut in your browser's extension settings if it conflicts with something else.

Saving with the right-click menu

Right-click any link on a page to see Recallio options in the context menu:

• Save page to Recallio - saves the current page
• Save link to Recallio - saves the link you right-clicked without opening it
• Save selection to Recallio - saves highlighted text as a bookmark with the source URL

The context menu also shows your collections as submenus, so you can save directly into a specific collection in one step.

Searching from the extension

Click the search icon at the bottom of the popup to search your bookmarks without leaving the current page. Results show the page title, URL domain, and favicon. Click any result to open it in a new tab.

Troubleshooting

The extension doesn't connect to my account Make sure you're using the same email address you registered with on recallio.co.uk. If you recently reset your password, log out of the extension and log in again.

The popup shows a blank screen Try right-clicking the Recallio icon and choosing Reload extension, then clicking the icon again.

The context menu doesn't appear On Firefox, context menu items take a moment to populate after you first log in. Reload the page you're on and try again.
